Cersten Bethke studied physics at the University of Düsseldorf with an emphasis on solid-state physics and applied physics. He received his doctorate with a thesis on solid-state spectroscopy before spending three years working as a scientific member of an interdisciplinary biotech project in Düsseldorf.
Cersten started his IP career at a Stuttgart patent and general law firm in 2005. He passed the German patent bar examination and has been admitted as an authorized representative of the European Union Intellectual Property Office since 2008. Since 2011, he has been on the list of professional representatives before the European Patent Office.
Cersten Bethke specializes in communications engineering, measurement and control technology, electrical systems, energy technology, mechanical engineering and automotive issues. He also has practical experience in trademark, design and licensing matters.
